Gogh exhibition at Kyushu National Museum
I've ever been watching Gogh's paintings. But I went to the exhibition, because it was focused on Gogh.
Kyushu national museum, which was built in Oct 2005. The other purpose was to watch this brand-new museum.
Entrance hall. That decoration seems to Japanese traditional timberwork.
My grand-father was "Miya-daiku" (a traditional carpenter who is specialist to make temples or shrines), so I saw his work, those timberwork is made without nails.
I think that is sturdy because it was made of face-joining, not point-joining.
(Today's English composition is a bit difficult for me. :p)
This is... If I remember correctly, It's a decoration for "Hakata dontaku" (a famous festival of Hakata)
The doll of right side is "Momotaro".
I'm afraid I can't put the paintings of Gogh to this article. Imagine it.
I understood that Gogh's bold, rough and creativeness touch was born from his honest mind which wants to learn from other painters.
(got it? :p difficult to make Eng...)
I came home after I visited to "Dazaifu-tenman-guu" which is near the museum.
This is an entry for Show Me Japan
You did a great job explaining it in English! Many people say that van Gogh's paintings reflect his mental illness, most probably bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
I am very interested in learning more about your grandfather and his work as a traditional carpenter!!! It would be great if you could write a blog post about him! :-)

I echo Anna's sentiment. It would be great to know more about your grandfather and his craft. :)

★Good afternoon, Anna-san!
I'm glad to hear that. ^^
This exhibition was exhibited in time series. In early days, he painted a lot of study paintings. I was looking forward to see his characteristic touch appearing. I saw it on his days of Paris, which was a picture of flower for studying color paintings.
I didn't know his state of mind when he painted it, but I realized that his touch was born in a lot of study.
Though, I felt his paintings in late life is acute and dark.
My grandfather went to the heaven in a long time ago, but I'd like to write it if I could find out his history or something. :)

★Good afternoon, lina-san!
When I was a stupid kid, I didn't notice about grandfather's greatness.
I found my work for my blog by your comment. ^^;;;

★Yoshitaka

まあ人が多い福岡だし予想はしていたんですけどね ^^;

★Yoshi
